Lunch & Learn
Lunch and learn sessions are quick and to the point. They include 45 minutes of information about understanding and affirming 2SLGBTQ+ populations, and a structured 15 minute question and answer period at the end.
Occupational Therapy
When accessing occupational therapy, you can expect the following:
An initial meeting with the occupational therapist to help us get to know you and learn about what you are experiencing challenges with and what your strengths and sources of joy are. A follow up session will be required to co-create a few goals and come up with a plan to reach them. Each session is approximately an hour.
Treatment plans are individualized, meaning that therapy sessions will be different for each client. While sessions typically involve discussing your insights and experiences since the past session and revisiting what you are working towards, they may also involve actually doing various occupations together if it aligns with your goals. This could look like going out into the community together, doing a meaningful activity and problem-solving through it, trying new things, or learning new ways of doing things altogether. Occupational therapy is very broad, which means there are plenty of ways for us to support you to reach your goals!
Coaching on self-advocacy and learning how to identify and articulate your needs
We will provide you with education relevant to your concerns, including handouts, resources, referral to other services and supports
As a regulated health profession, we comply with the Canadian Occupational Therapy Core Competencies and have insurance through our professional association.
Session frequency can vary depending on need, costs and availability
Occupational therapy is currently not covered by some extended health benefits. We do not offer direct billing but do provide invoices and receipts. Sliding scale is available for those with financial barriers.
Workshops
Workshops are in-person opportunities to do a deep dive into challenges, situations and scenarios. We will meet with you in advance to get an in-depth understanding of what types of support and changes will be most effective for your business. These interactive sessions can involve employees, staff and other personnel to foster a collaborative space where learning happens together in a consistent way. Workshops are bookable as 3 or 5 hour sessions.
